NY Arts program prospective candidates must demonstrate:
  • a commitment to their overall education as well as their creative and professional goals,
  • an ability to live and work in a collaborative environment,
  • curiosity and openness to new ideas,
  • and an excitement about the prospect of discovery.


Academic Requirements:

Undergraduates:  Students must meet the off-campus study approval guidelines set by their colleges and obtain their academic advisor’s permission to apply to NYAP.   Most students attend NYAP in their junior or senior years, however students who meet these standards will be considered.  Letters of Reference from two faculty members and copy of the college transcript are required.

Post-Bacs: NYAP considers applicants who have graduated no more than two years from the semester of their proposed attendance.  They are required to have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and must supply an official copy of their college transcript.


Application Deadlines:

Fall Semester:  Extended to May 1
Spring Semester: October 31
Summer Visual Arts Intensive: May 15
